The volume of research data has increased enormously and the requirements regarding privacy, the use and reuse of data are becoming increasingly strict. Research data must be collected, stored, processed, analysed, archived and shared with others.
The requirements for handling research data responsibly exceed the capabilities of individual investigators and even those of individual university medical centres (UMCs). The UMCs have chosen a joint approach: the infrastructure programme Data4lifesciences.
The integrated research data infrastructure of Data4lifesciences is realized by the University Medical Centres in collaboration of many working groups and consortia. The members of the operational board are the connecting pin for all participants.
The Data4lifesciences programme committee is chaired by Hans van Leeuwen (Erasmus MC), Chris Polman (Vumc) and Marian Joëls (UMCG), and programme manager Jan-Willem Boiten (Lygature)
