Ldot: workflow tool for clinical research

A web-based software package to help with the logistics of your research.

Chevron Down Icon of a chevron pointing down About

Ldot is a web-based tool, designed to monitor the study logistics and guard the progress of your research project. It supports the study workflow by indicating which actions should be performed for which study subject at what time. Ldot can be configured to present this information as email notification, action list or in a graphical calendar.

Ldot is designed specifically for protocols that require safe storage of personal data and recommended for studies with a larger number of participants, a more complex or longitudinal schedule and multicentre studies.

  • The web application only stores personal and logistical data and not research data.
  • No patient data is stored in Ldot (data can be stored in another EDC tool)
  • Ldot conforms to the European data protection act, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Health-RI supports the generic Ldot solution, which has some important advantages:

  • Build your own schedule
  • Safe data storage in an ISO27001 environment

Getting Started

Contact the Health-RI servicedesk to create a user account on one of the environments or to create a new Ldot study.

To start a new study in TraIT Ldot, you will first need to build it in a testing environment, the Ldot sandbox environment

Upon approval of your sandbox study, the complete schedule as present in the sandbox environment is migrated to the Ldot production environment, where you can start using Ldot.

Please read how to set up Ldot to get a study up and running on the TraIT Ldot webpage.

Feel free to contact the Health-RI service desk with any other questions you may have.

Please note that Ldot only supports Internet Explorer 9+ and Google Chrome. For best results, use Internet Explorer 10 or 11.

Tailored support

The learning curve for using Ldot can be steep and may not be suitable for a single use. Professional data managers can build the schedule for you. Ldot can be tailored to your needs.

Further information

MEMIC research software engineers have built Ldot based on years of experience with Research Data Management support.

Ldot can be used by research projects according to a fair-use policy at a fee of €750 per study per year (excluding VAT).

Please contact the Health-RI Service Desk for more information and to discuss the possibilities in the following cases:

  • Study schedules which are expected to involve more than 5.000
  • Projects that demand extraordinary computing capacity, disc space or network bandwidth. The extra costs should be fund from own project budget.

A multicenter, investigator initiated, prospective cohort study as EnCoRe can’t do without the Ldot infrastructure.
