Supporting the Strategic Direction of Health-RI
Health-RI is advised by an International Advisory Board (IAB) composed of leading international experts in health data infrastructure, digital transformation, genomics, biobanking, artificial intelligence, and health economics. The IAB provides independent oversight and strategic advice on the development, implementation, and evolution of Health-RI’s national health data infrastructure. The board supports alignment with European initiatives such as the European Health Data Space (EHDS), European Research Infrastructures, and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), and contributes to strengthening Health-RI’s role within the international health data landscape.
Purpose and role
The International Advisory Board (IAB) provides independent oversight and strategic advice on Health-RI’s development and implementation. As a key part of Health-RI’s governance, the IAB:
- Advises on strategy, deliverables, and alignment with European and international best practices.
- Supports implementation of key infrastructure components.
- Facilitates engagement with public health organizations, researchers, and the private sector.
- Guides policies for patient-level data linkage, governance, and data reuse.
- Helps develop long-term strategic plans incorporating international experience.
- Advises on communication strategies to strengthen Health-RI’s role as a national and international health data hub.
The board convenes annually to evaluate Health-RI’s progress, provide recommendations, and share insights from similar initiatives across Europe and beyond.
