EATRIS-The European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine
The European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine offers a new collaboration model for fostering innovation.
The infrastructure plays a fundamental role in the advancement of knowledge and technology in translational research and drug development.
With over 90 leading institutes, across 14 EU Member States, EATRIS provides access to the entire pipeline of academic translational infrastructure and expertise, and optimizes the route from discovery to proof-of-concept in medicines development. It provides a new development pathway, open to researchers and companies in need of support for advancing biomedical innovations.
EATRIS is a non-profit European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC). This specific legal form is designed to facilitate the joint establishment and operation of research infrastructures of European interest.
Health-RI works closely with Dutch local-regional nodes and scientific communities to develop solutions in The Framework of Ethical, Legal, Societal Implication Framework (ELSI), FAIR, Biobanks and Data collection, and Architecture.
Health-RI International Team coordinates the Dutch National Node of EATRIS bringing collaboration opportunities and innovative solutions from Dutch scientific communities to EATRIS and vice versa, specifically in the following areas:

- Regulatory Service
- Research funding opportunities and supports
- Health Technology Assessment
- Rare Diseases
- Industry partnership supports
Ongoing collaborative project with Health-RI
- EATRIS-CONNECT: In EATRIS-CONNECT, all 14 national EATRIS nodes form the central pillar of the project, aimed at aligning strategic national priorities across infrastructure and strengthening digital competences.
- European Open Science Cloud for Cancer (EOSC4cancer): Health-RI works with the project to make diverse types of cancer data accessible: genomics, imaging, medical, clinical, environmental and socio-economic.
- Future Affordable & Sustainable Therapies (FAST): Health-RI works to support sorting out complex issues in the process of innovative therapy development and makes expertise and advice available within focus areas.
