ABOARD

ABOARD (A Personalized Medicine Approach for Alzheimer’s Disease) is a large-scale research project, carried out by a national, multidisciplinary consortium. It is working towards a future of personalized diagnosis, prediction, and prevention of Alzheimer's. ABOARD started on April 1, 2021, and has a duration of 5 years. An important component of ABOARD is the ABOARD Cohort, which collects data with the aim to gain insight into the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

The ABOARD Cohort has a participant panel with 57 members, some of whom are also participants in the Cohort or may become participants in the future. This panel includes caregivers, healthy individuals, and patients. They provide their perspectives on developments in the Cohort, contributing to better alignment with the desires and expectations of research participants. This panel is organized by Amsterdam UMC (location AMC) and the Brain Foundation, and is coordinated by Health-RI.

In addition, Health-RI provided advice to ABOARD on legal and ethical aspects related to large-scale data collections. For more information, you can visit www.aboard-project.nl.
