Looking forward to a bright Health-RI future: final Data4lifesciences meeting
The Operational Board of Data4lifesciences gathered in December for the last time under the Data4lifesciences banner. Aim of this final strategy meeting was to discuss how the Data4lifesciences best practices should be sustained and extended in Health-RI in the next years.
Three guest speakers gave our board members ‘food for thought’ to start of some vibrant discussions. Kees van Bochove (The Hyve) started with stating that ‘FAIR data is about people and embracing change’. Ruben Kok (DTL) put forward three Health-RI challenges that are of interest in the near future and Hugo de Vos (Voswiz) presented a pilot project in which data from very diverse sources are combined in a dashboard to be able to make policy decisions regarding mental health care in the Netherlands. After these three presentations, all work package leaders presented their priorities for 2020 and beyond to give input for the workshops in the afternoon that focused on FAIR data stewardship, collaboration and reuse of data.
Conclusion of the meeting was that Data4lifesciences is considered a very successful program that has taken the first steps towards far-reaching collaboration between UMCs in the field of data infrastructure, with a focus on sharing experiences and best practices. Now we are going to take the next steps towards a solid and effective collaboration within Health-RI where we also will share services.
