Health-RI at the Europe Biobank Week 2026
From 19–22 May 2026, the Europe Biobank Week will take place at the Prague Congress Centre. This leading international congress brings together researchers, biobank professionals, policymakers, and industry partners to exchange knowledge and best practices in biobanking, data infrastructure, and the future of health data in Europe.
The event focuses on fostering collaboration, innovation, and standardisation across the European biobanking ecosystem, with particular attention to data sharing and the implementation of the European Health Data Space (EHDS).
On behalf of Health-RI, Lucie Kulhánková (Programme Manager Data Team / Account Manager Services) will deliver an oral presentation in the session “The EHDS unveiled: Latest developments and national perspectives.” Her talk, titled “Preparing a national infrastructure for EHDS implementation: the Dutch approach”.
In addition, Lifang Liu (International Theme Manager & Oncology Node Coordinator, Health-RI) will contribute to the programme with a presentation titled “The CANDLE project: the ‘what’ and ‘how’ in developing the EHDS-compliant UNCAN.eu network of national cancer data nodes across Europe.”
Furthermore, Peggy Manders (Biobanks & Collections Theme Coordinator Central, Health-RI / Radboudumc / BBMRI.nl) will contribute with two presentations titled “Biobank participants’ choices regarding unsolicited findings and feedback” and “Dutch law on (human) biological material,” as well as a poster presentation on “Dutch biobank course for professionals.” Lastly,
Miriam Beusink (ELSI Programme Officer, Health-RI) will present “It’s very complicated to trust companies when you feel like: I don't have the right information!” How can research infrastructures facilitate research by companies in ways that align with citizens’ expectations?
