MITZ

Mitz is a generic facility offered by VZVZ. The collaboration between Health-RI and Mitz aims to investigate whether Mitz can also be suitable as a consent register for secondary use.

In the project 'Integration with Mitz as a governance register for secondary use,' we, together with VZVZ, are examining whether and in what way Mitz can be applicable as a governance register for secondary use. VZVZ offers Mitz as a generic facility, serving as a consent register for sharing data among healthcare providers for primary use in the care process. Patients (and citizens) can record their consent or objection online, making choices about which healthcare providers may share data about them for consultation by other healthcare providers in situations where treatment requires it.

For secondary use, Health-RI collaborates with ministries in the Obstacle Removal Trajectory (OVT) to realize a national governance register. In the OVT trajectory – cluster 2, requirements and preferences are formulated for such a register. In collaboration with Mitz, we, together with VZVZ, are investigating whether and how Mitz can meet these requirements and preferences in terms of technical and functional specifications. The legal prerequisites and the formulation of the governance register's questions are developed in Cluster 2 of the Obstacle Removal Trajectory.
