ZonMW
Currently, there is no coordinated way to exchange relevant metadata between organisations within e.g., the dementia domain, one of the programmes for ZonMw with FAIR requirements, nor is there an infrastructure that supports the FAIR distribution of data.
The current infrastructure for capturing and connecting data is fragmented and not equipped to effectively analyse different data sources.
Learning from previous pilots, as part of its FAIR data and Open Access policy, ZonMw, is a strong advocate of the further development and stimulation of data FAIRification.
The aim of the collaboration between Health-RI, ZonMw and GO FAIR Foundation in the dementia domain is to support researchers and data stewards in creating FAIR data in their ZonMw-funded projects. The focus is on putting collaboration into practice, developing joint approaches, knowledge transfer and building data stewardship capacity. Assistance is provided for instance to applicants of ZonMw funding to match requirements in terms of FAIR data.
The long-term goal is to jointly develop FAIR services and tools that are scalable, i.e., increasingly suitable for large-scale implementation of FAIR in future research projects.
