Health-RI Data Stewardship Community

The Health-RI Data Stewardship Community (DSC) is a community hub for health and life sciences data stewards that facilitates sharing experiences and collaboration.

Data stewardship is a relatively new profession that emerged to support researchers in data handling before, during and after a research project. For example, data stewards are trained to make data as FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) as possible and to advise researchers on data sharing. With the support of data stewards, data becomes more sustainable and remains valuable after a research project ends.

The Health-RI Data Stewardship Community aims to:

  • Accelerate the implementation of data stewardship in health care and life sciences institutes
  • Share experiences between data stewards across the health care and life sciences domain
  • Join forces to tackle cross-domain and cross-institutional problems together

The DSC meetings are organised supplementary to the cross-disciplinary Data Stewards Interest Group (DSIG) meetings, to offer health and life sciences data stewards the opportunity to jointly discuss topics and share experiences specific for their domain.

Get involved

The next meeting will be scheduled soon.

The Health-RI DSC is facilitated by Fieke Schoots and Mijke Jetten (Health-RI). Feel free to contact us to learn more about the Health-RI DSC or if you want to collaborate.

We unite health care and life sciences data stewards for fruitful national collaborations, so we do not have to reinvent the wheel at each institute.

Relevance

Especially in the present era of data-driven health research, data stewards are a fundamental part of research support in health care and life sciences institutes. In the Health-RI DSC, we bring these individuals together.

Mode of Operation & governance structure

By the community, for the community. The DSC organises bi-monthly meetings in which shared topics are discussed, experiences are exchanged and collaborations are sought.
