BBMRI.nl and Health-RI organize an annual Biobank Day to bring together experts and professionals to discuss the latest developments and challenges in the field of biobanking. Biobank Day 2023
The first annual Biobank Day, held on November 9th at the VUMC in Amsterdam, attracted more than 170 participants. The event provided a platform for experts and professionals to explore biomaterials, data handling, ethics, legal, and societal issues, and patient-centric biobanking. -
Biobank Day 2025
The second edition of the Biobank Day organized by Health-RI took place at the Experience Center in Nijmegen on March 27, 2025, bringing together 150 participants from across the Netherlands. Researchers, biobank managers, coordinators, policymakers, and patient representatives gathered to discuss the latest advancements in biobanking, including biomaterial quality, standardization, legislative developments, patient involvement, and data management. The event served as a vital platform for fostering collaboration and innovation within the biobank and cohort research community.

Biobank Day 2026
On Thursday, March 19, 2026, the Biobanks & Collections Day took place, organized by BBMRI.nl in collaboration with Health-RI. This year, we gathered with approximately 150 participants at the Princess Máxima Center in Utrecht. Researchers, biobank professionals, policymakers, and patient representatives came together to discuss the latest developments in the field of biobanking, including the quality of biomaterial, standardization, legislative changes, and data management. In addition, we welcomed patient initiatives focusing on involving parents in research into childhood cancer.
